Demi Lovato has revealed exactly how she opened up to her parents about being bisexual, and it’s incredibly brave.

While chatting to Andy Cohen on his radio show Radio Andy, she revealed that it was time for her to tell her parents when things were becoming more serious between her and another girl.
“I’m still figuring [my sexuality] out,” Demi said. “I didn’t officially tell my parents that I saw myself ending up possibly with a woman until 2017. It was actually emotional but really beautiful. After everything was done, I was like shaking and crying. I just felt overwhelmed. I have such incredible parents. They were so supportive.”
Thankfully, they took it really well… but also explained that her dad wasn’t that shocked.
“My dad was like, ‘Yeah, obviously,'” she said. “He said like, “Hello, ‘Cool for the Summer’.” But my mom was the one that I was super nervous about,” she revealed. “But she was like, ‘I just want you to be happy.’ And that was so beautiful and amazing. I’m so grateful.”
So cute.
The star also talked about her future plans which involve KIDS!
“I don’t know what my future looks like. I don’t know if I’m gonna have kids this year or in 10 years. I don’t know if I’m gonna do it with a partner or without. ‘Cause, women, we don’t need partners to…you know? Amen!”
