Buckle up SprouseHart fan, because we’ve got some potential bad news to break to you. According to Riverdale’s Skeet Ulrich, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart may have broken up.
Last week, Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead’s dad and former Southside Serpents leader FP Jones in Riverdale, took to IG Live with his fiancee and Aussie model Megan Blake Irwin. What seemed like a nice casual Live of the two hanging out in a bubble bath quickly escalated when their response to a question from a fan made us stop our fourth Riverdale marathon this week and fear that, maybe, our fave TV power couple was over.
During the Live, one fan asked them, “do you think Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart are a cute couple?”
“I think they were a very cute couple,” said Ulrich.
Umm, what do you mean, “were?”
“They were a very cute couple,” adds Blake Irwin, emphasising the forsaken taboo word.
If Sprouse and Reinhart are still together, we suspect Ulrich wouldn’t have used past tense here. He probably would’ve said they are a cute couple and Blake Irwin would have reacted differently. Needless to say, we hope that they’re merely joking or this was an awkward grammatical error than the fist sized error in our hearts.
We should also add that in the above clip, it’s unclear whether Blake Irwin’s follow up response—y’know that Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart *were* a cute couple—was said to emphasise that the two really are over, that they’re extremely cute together or, even, because she’s just confused that Ulrich used past tense and implied that they’re no longer dating. Again, we’re really hoping for the latter here…
