Brooklyn Beckham got his very first tattoo the other day and, judging by his Instagram, he’s clearly obsessed with it.

We’re sure this is an exciting moment for him, especially since the tatt was supposed to pay homage to the same one on his dad David Beckham, but his choice in ink has been met with outrage online.
Brookers paid a visit to LA-based artist Mark Mahoney and had a Native Indian man in a headdress tattooed onto his right arm. It’s the same tattoo his dad has, so naturally he captioned this first photo “Thank you so much Mark x just like dads.”
When fans got the first glimpse of the tattoo, Brooklyn’s page was ~flooded~ with comments with many of them calling it offensive.
“No regard for the violent history of indigenous peoples, for genocide that is still perpetuated today by society and government alike. We are not fictional characters from some far away time. We are not sensationalized and generalized images for you to tattoo,” wrote one.
“Why u gotta go and disrespect Indigenous people like that. It’s not enough to wear our headdresses and our war paint to Coachella, y’all have to get a tattoo of a brown person on your arm because we’re “stoic and strong” and apparently can’t represent ourselves? Yikes dude,” commented another.
“It’s called cultural appropriation …it would be one thing if you were honored with one by an actual native american…but if you weren’t, then honestly you have no business wearing it. That’s how I feel,” said another.
The angered fans did NOT hold back what they think of Brooklyn’s new tattoo, but he’s yet to comment on the situation. What do you guys think??
