Panic! At The Disco’s frontman Brendon Urie has just come out as pansexual, in an interview with Paper magazine.
Brendon has for a long time had a huge LGBTQ following because of his music, but he hasn’t opened up about his own sexual orientation until now.
Brendon has been married to wife Sarah Orzechowski since 2013, but isn’t scared to discuss his open sexuality.
“I’m married to a woman and I’m very much in love with her but I’m not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person.”
That’s when he identified himself as pansexual. GLAAD describes pansexual as being attracted to people, without taking into regard their sex or gender.
“Yeah I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don’t care,” Brendon said. “If a person is great, then a person is great. I just like good people, if your heart’s in the right place. I’m definitely attracted to men. It’s just people that I am attracted to.”
Last week, Brendon donated $1 million to GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) to honour the end of pride month.
“Some of the most inspiring leaders out there right now have come from GSAs,” he said in a statement. “Working firsthand with GLSEN, student leaders everywhere, and all my fans, I want to make sure that every one of our future leaders out there has the support they need to form their own GSA and begin their work to make a better world.”
What a king.
