We’ve been massive fans here at Girlfriend of Bebe Rexha since forever.

Our fanning turned to full blown stanning when she joined forces earlier this year with our fave sassmaster from Doncaster, Louis Tomlinson on their song “Back To You”.

We were lucky enough to chat to the woman herself this week and get the inside goss on her partnership with Just Dance 2018, her friendship with Tommo and the new music she’s working on RN.

How did you get involved with Just Dance?

“I have been such a big fan of Just Dance. I remember when Lady Gaga had her music on there and I remember they reached out to me wanting to do collaboration. When I found out they wanted to do a collaboration with me I said, oh my gosh yes immediately let’s do it and that’s how that happened.”

What are your top tips for dancing like a confident queen?

“Don’t worry about anybody else around you! If you have good time and you’re having fun, I think that’s all that matters and don’t think about what everyone else is thinking about you or what they’re saying cause it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day it’s all about having a good time and if you have a good time I feel like that really shows.”

.

‘The Way I Are’ has amazing strong messages in it, what does this song mean to you?

You know I wrote ‘The Way I Are’ for accepting yourself and loving yourself for who you are, not trying to fit the norm or what everybody else wants you to be. It’s about being different and unique and not fitting the mold or the norm.”

What was it like collaborating with Louis Tomlinson?

“Working with Louis on ‘Back To You’ was honestly an amazing experience. He was so kind, so sweet and we filmed the music video in Doncaster and it was really interesting. It was like this town outside of Manchester- so far from a city and it was cool it was very humbling and it was nice to see – it was nice seeing where Louis was from and it makes total sense cause he’s very humble and very sweet and very kind.”

Your outfits in ‘Meant to Be’ are fire, do you work with a stylist to choose them?

“I work with a stylist, yes, and we collaborate a lot on what we want to put together. We custom make a few things. The plaid corset top from ‘Meant To Be‘, which is the first scene, that was a custom made plaid outfit that my stylist and me put together.”

What’s your favourite outfit you’ve ever worn?

My favourite outfit I’ve ever worn is the three-piece Swarovski crystal skirt and top and choker from the VMAs two years ago by Bryan Hurns.”

You recently announced that you’re working on new music, what can you tell us about your next EP?

“I’m actually working on a new EP called Expectations. I’ve decided not to do All Your Fault Pt.3 I’ve decided to do an EP called Expectations, just because I feel like my sound has now changed a little bit more and I feel like I’m growing up a little bit more and I’m really excited about the new music. It’s probably one of my favourite music I’ve made.”

You have soooo many fans here in Australia… any plans to visit and perform here in the future?

“Yes! I’ve been begging my team to fly me out to Australia for a show or something cause I want to go and hang with the Aussies and see some kangaroos and have a good time.”
