The commentary on women’s bodies is seemingly never-ending and Ariel Winter is the latest celeb to experience this online.
The Modern Family star posted a picture of herself in a black and white checkered jumpsuit just a day before her 21st birthday and was immediately flooded with messages about her body.
“Too skinny now.. where the curves go???” wrote one Instagram user.
“You losing the booty girl,” another wrote.
Some accused her of having plastic surgery to alter her body.
“Nothing wrong with being honest and telling her we liked her better before ‘the change’ she was so beautiful before she started chopping up her body and if me saying so helps one gurl out there to feel beautiful who’s thinking of PS then its worth it,” another user wrote.
Ariel eventually jumped into the madness that is the comments section.
“I appreciate you wanting to help girls love themselves the way they are, but you are also kind of cutting someone (me) down,” Ariel wrote.
“I also didn’t get plastic surgery. That is also not being supportive of women if you’re just assuming something about the way they look.”
This is the second time this month that Ariel has clapped back at body-shaming trolls, as a bunch of them commented on a photo of Ariel and her boyfriend Levi Meaden from New Year’s Eve.
“Not half as bad as all the coke.meth she uses. She literally dropped 30 ponds (sic),” wrote a troll.
“Yup … I dropped 30 bodies of water so fast …” Ariel wrote. “And yes!! My psychiatrist switched me from my previous antidepressant that didn’t work and made me gain weight, to coke/meth!! Definitely not a new one that worked and then regulated my metabolism. Coke/meth was a controversial decision but she stands by it.”
