Calling them "degrading".

Ariana Grande isn’t a fan of people impersonating her on TikTok. Especially when they use her look and mix it with her voice as Cat in her Nickelodeon show, Victorious.

The 26-year-old singer shared videos from Jordan Firstman, a filmmaker who did ‘impersonations’.

In one video, captioned, “this is my impression of a meme,” Jordan makes fun of meme makers, saying, “What if we, like, we took a moment, like a small clip from a movie or a TV show. Something that like, an artist really poured their soul into, and it like, it just took them years to make…What if we took a moment from that, and we kind of like, recontextualized it—like, does that make sense? And we put a completely arbitrary meaning onto that thing that the artist loves so much? Kind of like, degrading its entire value.”

Ari popped it on her story, writing alongside it, “omg can this please also double as your impression of the pony tail TikTok girls who think doing that Cat Valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me…cause this really how it feels…”

She added at the end, “‘Degrading its entire value’ I screamed.”

Ariana ended up deleting the post from her story, but the screenshots never lie!

It’s not the first time she’s talked about it either.

Last year, a TikTok star named Paige Niemann went VIRAL for her Ariana impersonations.

She looks exactly like Ariana, and made a bunch of videos lip-synching scenes from Victorious, while dressed as Ari.

Ariana tweeted at the time, saying she thinks it’s weird when people “blend the two worlds” from her current look mixed with her Cat voice.

“I just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue,” she wrote.

She brought it up in her 10-year anniversary post about Victorious, writing, “I really loved playing Cat Valentine (even though sometimes people think I actually still speak and act like that and her essence will lovingly haunt me til I die).”

Kourtney Kardashian commented saying “I thought that was your real voice,” and Ariana responded with “….. blocking you,” later adding “jk. love you…but jesus christ.”
