There’s a lot to be unpacked from Ariana Grande’s music video of “Thank U, Next”.
And while the video is centred around 4 amazing chick-flicks, has a thousand different cameos and a bunch of easter eggs, at the core of the song Ariana sings about how grateful she is for her past relationships… and that’s echoed in the film clip.
During the Mean Girls Burn Book scene, Ariana dedicates a page to her ex-fiance Pete Davidson.

On the page, there is one of Ariana and Pete’s famous selfies, with the message: “Sorry I dipped”. I love you always.”
Ouch, our hearts.
It confirms two things: Ariana was the one who ended the engagement, and there is no bad blood between the two.
Last week, Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun had to jump in on Instagram where a fan was bullying/spamming Pete, using Ariana’s “thank u, next” quote to put him down.
“stop the bullshit. It is nothing like that and Pete is a good dude. No one has hate for this guy and he is a stand-up guy. Show respect because trust me everyone on this side knows he deserves it and wishes him well,” Scooter wrote.

Ariana really has done her bit to fix toxic break up culture.
