Celebrity couples can be very up and down.
While most don’t last, actor Ansel Elgort has been going strong with his ballerina girlfriend Violetta Komyshan since 2012, their freshman year at LaGuardia, a prestigious performing arts high school in New York City.
Ansel has made it clear that his love for Violetta is unwavering, but his views on love have evolved into something a little different.
The 25-year-old has opened up about how he has a desire to fall in love with more people than just his girlfriend, but not intimately.
“It doesn’t need to be sexual. I could be done sexually with my girlfriend,” he said in his interview with The Times. “I think we’ve been pretty clear that I want to feel free to fall in love with people and that [option] should be open, but sexually it can be closed off.
“I’m in love with a bunch of my male friends who I’m not interested in having sex with, so why can’t I put the desire to have sex with women aside and let myself have love with women? I love Shailene Woodley and we never had anything sexual and that was great.”
“There will probably be some sort of chemical thing at some point that you can’t help, but you just have to be disciplined and not be a f***… We’re primitive beings,” Ansel added.
Wild.
We’re not sure how Violetta feels about his views, but he has a point. Why does being in love with somebody need to be intimate or sexual?
