“Firefighter, princess and astronaut” were normal answers given when a kid was asked what they wanted to be when they grew up… once upon a time. When social media wasn’t a thing.
Now, the most popular career choice among young Aussies is ‘influencer’, and we’re hardly surprised.
Who wouldn’t want to get paid for posting amazing photos while being sent free sh*t?
New research conducted by OPPO highlights that it’s a whopping 86% of young Australian’s (18-24 years) with this aspiration.
73% of these same Aussies agreed that the number of followers and likes they get on Instagram is incredibly important to them.
While it might be a little eye-roll inducing, being an influencer is highly profitable these days.
We mean… Kayla Itsines’ fitness empire started as an Instagram page, and has now landed her as the top female on the young rich list!
OPPO has even launched a paid position as an Influencer Intern where the successful applicant will be given an OPPO R17 Pro to capture all their amazing social content and be flown around Australia and New Zealand!
