Viral Twitter thread proves men are completely clueless when it comes to periods

"I met a guy once who thought that women could turn it off and on like a tap."

Men who are clued up on periods are like unicorns – they don’t exist. Okay, okay, that’s a huge generalisation. But there’s no denying that when it comes to the inner workings of the female body, the opposite sex knows very little.

Case in point: this hilarious thread.

Following a truly disastrous date, Twitter user Fabuticaba #blessed the masses by sharing a conversation she’d had with her ill-educated suitor. Cue face-palm.

Needless to say, the post went viral, racking up 176,000 likes and 19,500 comments in a mere matter of days.

“I’d bet my house he went to Catholic school,” one user suggested.

“His last girlfriend probably told him that so she wouldn’t have to sleep with him too often,” added another.

Others chimed in with similar experiences of their own. And ooohhh boy, it just gets better and better.

Ladies, perhaps it’s time we stage a ‘menstrual awakening.‘ Or at the very least, a little period 101 wouldn’t go astray.
