Home LIFE AND ADVICE

7 thoughts I had while using the iPhone 8

Does it live up to the hype?

Before the iPhone 8, I used the iPhone 6 so it was kinda a big jump in terms of updates. I’ve always used Apple phones so was curious to check out what the iPhone 8 had to offer (like the new cordless charger – sah fancy). So after a couple of weeks in, here are a few musing I had…

The charger is cordless

No more getting tangled up while you check your phone at night. Just whack it on the platform (which needs to be plugged in) and charge your phone juice. It’s a bit bulky to carry around (unlike the old-school plug-in charger) so more of an at-home device, but still a fun novelty for me!

The headphones have a different dock…

But also come with an adaptor in case you’re attached to your own headphones. The only downside is that if you don’t have your cordless charger and want to listen to music and charge your phone at the same time… you can’t. Unless you’re a technology nut and are willing to invest in a pair of wireless headphones, of course.

Taking screenshots is SO extra

The pic pops up at the bottom left of the screen and you can draw on it like Snapchat or Instagram. A cool little feature for those who love keeping receipts.

It’s water resistant

I didn’t try my luck too much with this feature but it’s definitely given me peace of mind when taking those poolside selfies.

In-built TV app

Life will become so much easier for you if you have Apple TV. Just sync the app to your TV and you’ll be able to stream shows and movies off your phone. It makes catching public transport so much less painful.

Super sensitive touch button

Firstly, I’m a huge fan of all this fingerprint technology. I barely have to press the home screen button before the screen lights up. – it’s a lazy person’s dream.

The photo res is super sharp

The camera quality of iPhones just keep getting better and my selfie game is strong thanks to the super high res of the camera.
