Having an online audience means that you’ll probably have to deal with trolls.
What a drag, right?
Even the lovely and down-to-earth Jesinta Franklin deals with criticism from haters on the Internet.
“Every now and again I get things like ‘Why’d you cut your hair like that? You look like a boy’ or ‘Why’d you wear that outfit?’” she told GF’s Beauty Boss podcast.
“Those are comments that are honestly so easy for me to brush off but I also feel like [with] my Instagram account I make it really obvious that nasty comments aren’t welcome so anyone that is being mean to me or anyone else, I block, I delete and that’s it.”
Instead of taking these comments to heart, Jesinta realises that the people who are writing these probably aren’t very happy.
“People that are mean to other people usually have something going on in their lives and are feeling really bad about themselves that they need to project that onto someone else,” she said.
“I kind of pity the people who troll and [think] you’re life must be so miserable and so sad that you’ve not only typed in my name, found a picture and then made the effort to comment.”
