People are legitimately blaming young teenage girls who do gymnastics for the sexual assault they receive. Why? Because they’re wearing leotards.
Thankfully, Olympian gymnast Aly Raisman has come to call those idiots out.
“I was recently asked if gymnasts should continue wearing leotards. Leotards r not the problem. The problem is the many pedophiles out there & the adults who enable them. By saying clothing is part of the issue, u are victim shaming/implying survivors should feel it’s their fault,” she tweeted.
Aly has been pushing for change in the gymnastics community ever since she testified during the Dr. Larry Nassar sexual assault trial.
She also sued the U.S. Olympic Committee for failing to protect hundreds of young gymnasts from Larry.
According to Aly’s attorney, it’s got nothing to do with the clothes they wear. It’s apparently got everything to do with a conspiracy to silence these victims and cover-up the LARGEST sex abuse scandal in history.
Wow.
“It’s become painfully clear that these organisations have no intention of properly addressing this problem,” Aly said recently.
