Newlyweds Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have received some very sad news.
After just returning from their honeymoon in the Maldives, their pet dog Waldo was sadly killed after being struck by a car in NYC.

According to TMZ, the incident occurred when a hired dog walker took the Alaskan Klee Kai out but escaped from his leash and ran onto the road.
A Jonas representative has described the whole ordeal as a “freak accident.”
E! later reported that an unnamed woman filed a police report according to an NYPD spokesperson late last week stating that the driver allegedly “did not stop” after striking a dog on the street “then left the scene.”
“The dog was brought to a hospital and died there” added the source.
A report was not officially submitted until two days after the accident because Sophie, 23, and Joe, 29, were so distraught. So much so that the loved-up couple sought out help from a therapist.
TMZ has since learned by law enforcement officials that the driver who struck down Waldo will not be charged.
The source told the outlet “that the driver cannot be criminally charged with Waldo’s death because the dog is considered property, and the incident is viewed as an accident.”
It was also clarified that the initial report filed was an accident report, not a criminal report.
If Joe and Sophie wish to seek legal action over the matter, they will need to take the yet-to-be-identified driver to civil court.
An investigation is reportedly underway to track down the driver.
Waldo Picasso Jonas first became part of the Jonas family in April 2018 and is from the same litter of their first dog, Porky Basquiat Jonas.
Both dogs played a major role in the Game of Thrones actress and Jonas Brother singer’s official wedding in France.

Sophie and Joe are yet to officially address Waldo’s passing but have been seen walking Porky in New York City with Turner cradling him in her arms.
