If you’re a total Snapchat pro, you’ll be fully aware that Snapchat has recently put a major emphasis on users’ Snap scores which can be found next to your username.

The purpose of your score is to show how active you are on Snapchat.
Tap on the number and you’ll see how many snaps you’ve sent versus how many snaps you’ve opened.
You receive 1 point for sending a snap and 1 for opening a snap but you do not receive a point for sending or receiving a Snapchat message or viewing a story.
If you’ve been inactive on Snapchat for a while then your first snap upon returning to the app will earn you 6 points.
Wanna stalk your friend’s score? Easy!
Just swipe right on their name to chat to them, then click the three blue lines on the top left corner of your chat screen and the number will be next to their username.
Is your score higher than theirs? Go you! The purpose of the Snapchat score is to give your profile authority and show how strong your Snapchat game is.
Is theirs higher than yours? Don’t sweat it! Get snapping RN and work your way up to them. Sometimes a little friendly competition is healthy.
We should warn you: there’s a little warning going around RN about your total snap score.
When you add up your sent snaps number and received snaps number, you may notice that it’s a different result to your final Snapchat score.
This is because Snapchat rewards you a different number of points depending on how you use the app.
For example, if you send a snap to multiple mates you will receive a point for each snapper you sent it to and then another point for sending the snap itself.
Although tbh, no one really knows the exact answer and the Snapchat gods may have a different way of calculating your score depending on how you send and receive snaps.
