Before Selena Gomez was the solo singing babe that she is today, she was the lead woman in popular noughties band Selena Gomez and The Scene.
The group came up with some of your fave Sel songs like "Naturally", "Love You Like A Love Song" and "Who Says" until disbanding without a word.
Now, Selena has *finally* addressed why she parted ways with her former bandmates.
"That to me was a very specific time in my life," she explained. "I think if you're 14, 15, 16 and you're trying to sing about situations in life that you haven't experienced, I don't really know if that qualifies you as an artist, if I'm being honest with you."
Sel explained that during her time with the band, she was discovering who she was as a person and who she ultimately wanted to become as an artist which led her to part ways with the lads and start her solo career.
"It helped me to have people who were older around me that helped guide me, and inspired me and pushed me," she added.
"And there was a moment when I felt like I could do it and I wanted to try it on my own."
