You can now use TikTok stickers to donate to COVID-19 relief

Make a difference without even leaving the app!

As much as binge-watching TikToks is totally helping us survive self-iso, after a while it can start to feel like you should be doing something a lil’ more…meaningful.

At the same time, it’s easy to look at those influencers and celebs donating thousands to charity right now and feel guilty that you’re not doing more to help.

While it’s important to remember that we’re all in different financial situations (like, not many of us have thousands just lying around!), even giving just a little can go a long way for COVID-19 relief. And the good news is, you can now do just that without even leaving the TikTok app!

Yesterday, TikTok launched Donation Stickers that creators can add to their videos and live streams.

Once added, users can tap the stickers and be sent to a donation page where they can donate their chosen amount.

The list of charities TikTok is supporting at the moment includes the CDC Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and the James Beard Foundation, the Red Cross and Help Musicians. So, whether you’re passionate about supporting the music and arts industries or feeding the hungry, there’s a bunch of awesome causes to get behind.

And the great news is, even if you can only spare a couple of dollars, your small change can still create major change.

Currently, TikTok are running their #doubletheimpact campaign, where they’re matching the first $10 million donated globally until May 27th.

While the charities being supported at the moment are COVID-19 focused, TokTok has announced that the donation stickers will be a permanent feature on the app.

So far, the donation stickers have only been rolled out in the US, UK, France and Germany. But, if some of your favourite international TikTok stars are using the stickers, you can still tap to donate no matter where you are.

Here’s hoping it launches in Australia soon so we can all use those growing TikTok followings to support some awesome Aussie charities!
