13 Reasons Why season 2 has officially landed on Netflix, meaning yes, there’s a lot of backlash.
The nature of the show is incredibly triggering, with season one copping so much criticism there was even petitions to cancel the show altogether.
But, they’re back, and it’s more graphic than ever.

In the final episode of the season, Tyler is sexually assaulted by Monty and his friends in a bathroom stall at school. He is incredibly hurt, and violated with a mop handle.
It’s incredibly hard to watch, and while the episode had a warning at the beginning, many people haven’t found it sufficient enough as the scene came out of NOWHERE and was absolutely crazy to watch.
Some fans are pleased with the show including male sexual assault, which does need to be talked about more… but the majority are outraged.

Tyler’s assault is one of the biggest scenes discussed. Producer Brian Yorkey talks on a panel with Miles Heizer, Dylan Minnette, Christian Navarro, writer Nic Sheff and psychiatric consultant Dr Hendrick.
The host, Elaine Welteroth asks about Tyler’s assault, and why it needed to be so graphic.
“It was important for us to try and bring the audience over to Tyler’s side… As brutal as that scene is to watch, I defy anybody to watch it and not feel pain for Tyler,” Brian said.
