Taylor Swift among many other women who have come forward with the #MeToo movement this year, have been named TIME’s Person Of The Year.

With all the sexual misconduct coming to light in recent months, it’s inspiring to see the huge publication name these brave women in such an honour, however some people aren’t impressed with Taylor’s involvement.

Did we really need Taylor Swift in here though?” one fan wrote on Twitter, which Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner responded, “Yes.”

Sophie is engaged to Joe Jonas, who famously dated Taylor Swift a few years ago, so it’s nice to see that put behind them and females uplifting other females, regardless of any history between them.

While Taylor isn’t specifically part of the #MeToo movement, she has been involved in a sexual assault trial for the past year.

Radio host DJ David Mueller groped Taylor during a meet and greet in 2013, and went on to sue her for defamation after she exposed him. She then countersued him back for $1, which she still has not been paid.

“I figured that if he would be brazen enough to assault me under these risky circumstances and high stakes, imagine what he might do to a vulnerable, young artist if given the chance,” Taylor told Time, explaining how the incident went down in a public setting. “It was important to report the incident to his radio station because I felt like they needed to know.”
