Last week, Pretty Little Liars alum Shay Mitchell came under fire for allegedly faking her Instagram photos.
Mitchell shared a photo of Hong Kong’s historic Monster Building with the caption ‘Night views,’ however, StyleCaster noticed the snap contained the Pinterest ‘save’ button on the top right, which lead them to believe the photo had been sourced online.
A quick Google confirmed that the photo originally appeared on a travel post by photography company Canon.
Now, Shay has taken to IG to respond to the claims in the sassiest way possible.
She posted a photo with the location in the background to prove that she was, in fact, in Shanghai and captioned it:
“View so nice it almost looks… fake.”
So maybe this one was real, but were the other pics ~actually~ taken by Shay or is she being a pretty little liar?
She once went on record saying that she gets “a little angry” when people fake food photos they post on Instagram.
“I love a great food shot and I follow a lot of food blogs,” Mitchell told PEOPLE last month. “But if I ever find out that you don’t really eat that food, and you just used it for a photo, that’s when I get a little angry — not only because you’re wasting it, but because someone like me could have enjoyed it.”
She added: “I don’t do a lot of food photos, but if I did, know that I ate it, and it was amazing enough for me to post it. I will never just order food to take a photo and then not eat it.”
Given this and other rants, it’d be V. disappointing if Shay actually was faking the pics!
