Luke Perry, 52, has been hospitalised following a “massive stroke” on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

TMZ reports that paramedics were called to his home in Sherman Oaks, California at around 9.40 am February 28, where he was then taken to hospital.

His publicist has released the following statement: “Mr Perry is currently under observation at the hospital.”

Luke Perry plays the loveable role of Fred Andrews on The CW’s hit show Riverdale.

The news came the same day it was announced that Beverly Hills, 90210 will be rebooted – the show that shot Luke Perry to fame in the 1990s. He played the conic character of Dylan McKay.

Right now it is unclear whether or not he will make a full recovery.
