Don’t come for Rihanna, because she will always have an intelligent clap back.
RiRi’s new Fenty Beauty line has basically come into the makeup industry and cleaned up, however, one fan thought they’d call her out for not being diverse enough by not using transgender models in her campaign.
“Fenty Beauty campaign is awesome, next time you record something should invite a trans girl to the group,” the fan wrote.
However Rihanna wasn’t going to let it slide without giving her own explanation. And it was golden.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans women over the years, but I don’t go around doing trans castings!” Rihanna said. “Just like I don’t do straight non trans women castings. I respect all women. Whether they’re trans or not is none of my business! I don’t think it’s fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool. Too often I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike. There’s always just that one spot in the campaign for the token ‘we look mad diverse’ girl/guy! It’s sad!” Rihanna wrote.
Girl yes.
The fan quickly back pedalled, writing, “When I thought she couldn’t teach me more… @rihanna.”
We don’t know about you, but we’re seriously considering RiRi for president.
