Paris Jackson has taken to Instagram to address reports that she had checked herself into a treatment facility.
According to People, Paris was seeking treatment in order to “reboot, realign and prioritise her physical and emotional health” but the 20-year-old has called out the media for making the situation bigger than it was.
“the media is exaggerating [as] per usual..” Paris captioned the image of her and her dog.
“yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever! gabriel and i have some new music we’re stoked to share with y’all! (@thesoundflowers) hope you guys’ new year started out with lots of love and light and all the things. i’ll be back soon!! xxox 🌻♥️”
Paris was hospitalised back in 2013 when she was only 15-years-old after she tried to take her own life. The daughter of pop icon, Michael Jackson, spoke to Rolling Stone last year about this turbulent time in her life.
“I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like teen, angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help,” she said.
“It was just self-hatred. Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”
We’re so glad to hear Paris is happy, healthy and thriving!
