Nooooooo!!

It’s hard to imagine a life without Netflix.

Like, what did we do with ourselves before we could binge-watch all six seasons of Gossip Girl at once, or stream new episodes of Stranger Things straight from the US? We literally don’t remember.

We’re all reliant AF on the entertainment streaming gods and they know it. Yet, the Netflix gods have been kind to us, so far only raising their prices once in 2017.

However, that’s about to change, because Netflix has announced a price increase for Aussie premium users.

Until recently, the premium price was $17.99 per month, but now it’s risen to $19.99.

The price hike was announced on October 3rd and has been slowly rolling out for the past few weeks.

So, if your Netflix membership hits your bank account a little harder this month, that might be why.

The good news is, there IS a silver lining — the new price increase will only affect premium members. So, unless you’re a high roller who pays for HD, 4K and the ability to stream on four screens, you’re safe.

The basic ($9.99) and standard ($13.99) plans will remain the same.

Netflix Australia told Business Insider Australia that current members on the premium plan will be notified via email and in the Netflix app a month before the new price is applied to them.

“We change our prices from time to time and continue to invest heavily to grow in the depth and breadth of our content such as new shows like The Politician, Unbelievable, well-loved series like Stranger Things, The Good Place, and The Crown – as well as improvements to our product,” a Netflix spokesperson told the publication.

“Our basic and standard memberships will remain at the same price, ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy our content.”

Phew! Although, let’s be honest — we’d prob take on like three jobs just to keep our Netflix memberships if it came down to it!
