Married At First Sight Australia’s Lauren and Matt were the first to leave the show after Matt revealed he wasn’t attracted to Lauren.
It all blew up in smoke, and Lauren has been on a mission to set the record straight since leaving the show.
However, now Matt is breaking his silence too. With a new girlfriend on his arm!
“There’s been relentless contact. I’ve asked her to stop,” he reveals. Ouch.
“The context of the message – to put it bluntly – it’s abuse.”
He was asked: “Does Lauren know about your girlfriend? Is that why she’s messaging?”
“No it’s been happening since before then!”
“We met a couple of months after MAFS. It was ironic. I got everything I asked for in the experiment – just after the show.”
So who is his new girlfriend? Annabelle – who he met before the show aired.
“I’m British. I’ve not seen the show. We actually met through wrestling. We train at UPW on the Sunshine Coast,” she explained
“We started getting on. He showed me a video of running through mazes.”
They have both decided to have not watch the show.
“She knows everything that is going on.”
Speaking of Lauren and her behaviour now that they’ve left the show: “It’s not my place [to say anything to her]. I think it’s hard and I feel for her. I don’t think it says anything about her, that your feelings manifested in the way that they did.”
Adding, “We’ve all been there!”
Matthew also took the time to clear up his comments about being unattracted to Lauren, and why he confided in the boys instead of her
“It wasn’t the right thing to come out. I’ve not been in that position before. I just said it.”
“The more time we spent together – the more true colours I saw. People didn’t see it.”
“There were a lot of factors. I can’t say.”
And of course, it was Lauren’s sexuality that wasn’t sitting well with Matt.
“When we go into the show if anything notable happens off camera we have to redo that conversation. I’m not going to put words in her mouth but what she said on camera about threesomes was a lot cleaner.”
Asked if he slept with Lauren more than once, he answered: “I don’t want to say.”
