Now that Maddie Ziegler has moved on from Dance Moms, she’s finally ready to tell the truth about the show that started her career. And it ain’t pretty… turns out the superstar dancer was having such a hard time on DM that it forced her to quit!
“Leaving Dance Moms was a hard decision to make, but it was getting too stressful,” she spilled to Seventeen magazine. “Now, I feel like I’m so free.”
Maddie also dished on the infamous Abby Lee Miller: “She’s exactly how she is on the show. But the thing that I like about her most is she can actually be funny sometimes. And she also wanted me to be good.”
But that wasn’t always easy for Maddie to handle: “I feel like I had so much more pressure on me to be the best in the room.” Fair enough babe, that must have been pretty tough on you!
Speaking of drama, the Dance Moms alum said that she has no time for online trolls anymore, explaining “I would be like, ‘Why are they mad at me?’ I’ve come to realize now that people just do it because they want attention.”
And that she’s ~totally~ made it as a dancer, acting is next on her to-do list and guess who she aspires to the most? Jennifer Lawrence!
“She’s an amazing actor and can do anything,” Maddie said. “She can be really quirky and she’s so funny in interviews I’ve seen. I’d love to see her do a Sia video parody—she would be amazing at ‘Cheap Thrills’!”
