In a new interview with The Guardian, Lily spoke honestly about the incident.

The singer said that after getting “smashed” at the party, the record executive let her into his hotel room and left her to sleep it off, but she didn’t wake up alone.

“I woke up at 5 a.m. because I could feel someone next to me pressing their naked body against my back. I was naked, too… I moved away as quickly as possible and jumped out of the bed, full of alarm… I found my clothes quickly… and ran out of his room and into my own.”

Lily said that she blamed herself for the assault as she’d been drinking and instead carried on working with the man, as she didn’t want to be branded “a difficult woman.” “If things went down, I told myself, he’d win,” she said.

When she returned to London, Lily consulted a lawyer and signed an affidavit, which documented her memory of events.

“I wanted it on record that I’d been sexually abused by someone I worked with,” she said.
