Kim Kardashian’s response to Kanye West’s controversial slavery comments

“A lot of things he said were very serious."

Last week, Kanye West set the world (or at least Twitter) on fire when he made some v offensive comments about slavery during his appearance on TMZ.

ICYMI: West said, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … For 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”

He added: “You were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally imprisoned.”

After his comments went viral and loads of people turned on him (including celebrities), his wife Kim Kardashian was reportedly mortified.

 “Kim was really upset that Kanye chose to have a very serious discussion in a place like that,” a source told Us Weekly. “And because she wasn’t given a heads up about it beforehand.”

“Kanye shared a lot of his passionate words, which was important to him but had they been said in a different setting and time, they would have come across in a different way,” the insider added. “A lot of things he said were very serious. If he had said them in different, more planned out way it would be a different story, even positive.”
