“I am so heartbroken to share the saddest news of my life that my son Jason Davis passed away this morning in Los Angeles. Jason had a true heart of gold with such a zest for life,” his mother Nancy Davis said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

“He was such a caring soul to everybody who ever knew him. He loved his friends and his family above all else. We ask for privacy as we take time to grieve this most devastating loss,” the statement continued.

Jason’s cause of death is unknown.
The star brought one of Disney’s most loveable characters to life, working on Recess as the ‘gentle giant’ from its series premiere in August 1997 until it ended in November 2001.

Jason had recently been committed to the Cure Addiction Now charity that he co-founded, and also appeared on the fourth season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2010 for his addiction to heroin, OxyContin and Xanax.
Jason Davis, the iconic voice actor of Mikey Blumberg from Disney’s ‘Recess‘, has tragically passed away at 35-years-old.
