After rampant speculation, Gigi Hadid has finally confirmed she’s expecting her first child with on-again-off-again boyfriend, Zayn Malik.

The 25-year-old model announced the happy news while chatting to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, revealing they’ve been celebrating with their loved ones all week while bunkering down at her family’s farm.
“Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” the former Victoria’s Secret Angel told the television host.
“Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it day by day,” she added.
Gigi’s interview comes less than 24 hours after her mother Yolanda Hadid opened up about becoming a grandmother.
“I’m excited to become a Oma in September especially after I lost my mom so recently. But this is the beauty of life: One soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed,” she told Dutch media outlet, RTL Boulevard.
While they’re yet to announce the sex of the baby, TMZ and Entertainment Tonight’s well-placed insiders say a baby girl is on the way!
“At the end of the day it didn’t matter to the couple what the sex was, but now they can prepare for the new addition before she arrives,” the insider told ET.
Rumours are also swirling her birthday celebrations last week could’ve served as a gender reveal party, seeing as there were pink and blue ribbons attached to the balloons she was holding in her Instagram photo with Zayn.
Two months before news broke the loved up couple were expecting a baby, Gigi gushed about wanting to start a family in the future.
In an interview with about the world of modelling, life in the spotlight and her plans for the future, she said of motherhood: “I think that as I get older… well one day I’ll start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modelling.”
Prior to this, Gigi told Extra in a red carpet interview last year that she’s excited to raise her little ones alongside her siblings’ kids.
“We have a, like, family farm that we go to a lot … yeah, all four of us might, like, maybe one day buy something together somewhere just so we can have all our kids together in one place. Not that I have kids yet, but one of my sisters has kids.”
Since going public with their romance in November 2015, the runway model and her singer-songwriter beau, 27, have split on multiple occasions.
In 2017, the former One Direction crooner opened up about his relationship with Gigi, telling Us Magazine that they’re just like the rest of us— normal!
“There are a lot of people who are too busy in each other’s lives. I just concentrate on my relationship and try to do right by my girlfriend and she does by me, and we hope for the best, as we all do! We both look, so we like to make meals for each other. I make chicken and sweet corn pie. She likes that.”
“She’s super intelligent. I think that’s why we work so well,” Zayn also gushed to Elle UK. “And we do the same type of job, so we get that with each other.”
In March 2018, they briefly parted ways before rekindling their romance months later. By January 2019, they had called it quits again.
While she’s long remained tight-lipped about the state of their relationship, Gigi confirmed they were an item again in February 2020, calling the “Pillowtalk” singer her “Valentine” in an adorable Instagram post.
Then, last week on her 25th birthday, Gigi shared a few photos from her special day, one of which showed the star cuddling up to Zayn and her sister Bella Hadid.
“Had the sweetest day celebrating my 25th birthday with my quarantine family, who made it so special for me, along with all the love I felt from all over the world! Thank you to everyone for the birthday messages, I carried you with me yesterday!! 💛🙏” she captioned the emotional post.
“I am grateful and lucky that my family and friends -near and far- are healthy and safe, and although I missed loved ones I wish I could have celebrated with, know that these times will make us even more grateful for togetherness to be had in the future.”
