Finding the right Prince Eric for Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid has been a rollercoaster of emotions.
First, we had the incredible high of Harry Styles being offered the role only to have him graciously turn it down. Not long after, 13 Reasons Why star Christian Navarro put himself forward.
NOW, HOWEVER, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actor Gavin Leatherwood has been put forward, and the people say YES.

JustJaredJr. has reported that Gavin has hinted he auditioned for the role back in August.
When a fan actually asked him to, “audition for prince eric” on Twitter, he responded, “Maybe I already have.”
We know he has his acting chops from CAOS, so all that’s really left is the jaw and hair… which he HAS.
But can he sing?
Whoever is chosen for Prince Eric, whether it is Christian or not, will star with Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Melissa McCarthy as the villainess Ursula
