Fans Want Dominic Sherwood Removed From ‘Shadowhunters’ After This Gay Slur

Woah.

Dominic Sherwood is absolutely adored on his show Shadowhunters, but once you make an error people don’t forget.

Especially when it’s a gay slur. The show has a leading relationship that is between two boys, making it a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, so when Dominic made this particular comment, fans came for him.

During a Facebook Live chat, Matthew Daddario was chatting to fans, when Dominic walked in. You can hear him walk in and say “Sup f**?”

Matthew tried to stop him, warning him that they were live, but Dominic didn’t seem to care.

“Oh I can’t come in because of my clothes?” he asked, not realising that he just made an incredibly offensive comment.

After a bazillion raging fans went on Twitter, Dominic sent out a video apology a few hours later.

He said, “I’m speaking to all of you today to hold myself accountable and not to make any excuses in any way. The way I behaved today was disgusting and horrible. Matt’s reaction was absolutely correct — it was one of disgust. I think so many problematic phrases go unchallenged and they perpetrate negativity and intolerance and today I was a part of that and I am truly truly sorry.”

Fans have accepted Dom’s apology, however they want him recast in the show. Yikes.
