He's finally opening up.

Dylan O’Brien hasn’t really said much about being horrifically injured while filming a scene for Maze Runner: The Death Cure, but now he’s opening up.

He revealed that he actually had to have facial reconstructive surgery, after suffering from a “severe concussion and brain trauma.”

“I basically broke this whole side of my face,” Dylan shared, pointing to the right side of his face.

Speaking with Vulture, he revealed that his recovery was a slow process, but still promising even though he was suffering from panic attacks.

He had signed on to another movie, American Assassin, where he had to learn fight choreography, and during the time he was still struggling with severe mental and psychological episodes.

“Sometimes I’d literally show up at the gym having a panic attack, and my trainer would be like, ‘All right, let’s just go get breakfast,’” he shared.

“I can’t give enough credit to him [Yuan]…he was really there for me, and not just like a trainer where it’s like, ‘Well, come on, man, I gotta pump you up.’ He cared more about my mind and the state that I was in.”

Luckily, Dylan had his girlfriend Britt Robertson and dad Patrick with him the entire time. He even brought his dad with him to London where he was filming the movie.

“I didn’t even think they’d let me on the plane, to be honest,” Dylan said. “I must have looked high or something…I don’t think I would have been able to step onto the plane without him.”

Poor Dylan. American Assasin comes to theatres next Friday!
