Demi Lovato just taught Inquisitr an important lesson.
Do not ever come for the queen, because she will come back 10 times harder.
The showdown came after Inquisitr published a story with the headline “Demi Lovato Appears to Have a Fuller Figure After Working Up a Sweat in LA” and that’s when Demi decided to show the publication why body shaming is never okay.
YAASSSS QUEEN.
Demi clapped back on her Instagram posting a story saying “I AM MORE THAN MY WEIGHT.”
She went on to totally slam the mag, telling her followers why body shaming is so harmful, especially to someone recovering from an eating disorder.
“Unlike the past, I’m not triggered, I’m not upset that someone wrote a headline about me ‘fuller figure’. I’m angry that people think it’s okay to write headlines about people’s body shapes. Especially a woman who has been so open about being in recovery from an eating disorder. I’m not upset for myself but for anyone easily influenced by the diet culture.”
“Too many people today base their ideal body off of what OTHERS tell us we should look like or weigh. Articles like these only contribute to that toxic way of thinking. If you’re reading this: Don’t listen to negative diet culture talk. You are more than a number on a scale and I am more than a headline about my body shape.”
“Change is made by raising your voice, speaking your truth and spreading love and compassion, not hate.”
Demi then shared a screenshot showing the direct message between her and the author of the article, Fabio Magnocavallo.
Fabio apologised writing “I’m really sorry, sincerely. You are an incredible talent and your’e right, your body is not all you are. This is a lesson learnt.”
Demi responded thanking Fabio for understanding where she was coming from and asking to create change together.
Demi has once again showed us why we love her so much.
