Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony well before they announced a hiatus, and since then, she’s been incredibly successful.
Her debut album Camila is full of absolute bangers, and right now, she’s supporting Taylor Swift on her Reputation tour. If that isn’t killing it, we don’t know what is.
And while Camila and the Fifth Harmony girls have remained somewhat civil, she has kind of shaded them again when talking to Rolling Stone.
“I don’t think there was ever a point where I was like, ‘I want to leave because I’m the breakout star,'” She said.
She, herself, isn’t being shady towards the girls at all. But there is something to unpack there, because well… she is the break out star.
In a band, there’s always that one person that gets a little more attention. The fans scream a little louder for them and they have a touch more followers. It’s just how the industry is. Camila happened to be that girl.
She continued, saying, “We were just really young. If we were in the same situation now, it would probably be fine for everyone to make their own music while being in the group, because I think everyone understands now that you can’t limit people. That’s why people break free.”
