Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson just shut down every rumour that she and rapper G-Eazy are dating with a single Instagram like. (Seriously, if you blink, you just might miss it.)
Last week, news broke that our fave couple, actress Ashley Benson and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets star Cara Delevingne had split. After the two met on the set of Her Smell and dated for a year and a half, they were the absolute cutest. Then, just days later, rumours sprung up that Ashley Benson was dating rapper G-Eazy.
Over the weekend, photos emerged of Halsey’s former BF G-Eazy in a car with a woman, believed to be Benson, buying groceries together. Rumours circulated that the two were quarantining together, making music and potentially, dare we say… “dating.” Did Benson just break up with Delevingne to date G-Eazy? The potential answer to that question was too scary to be true, and we and the internet were not having it.
G-Eazy, who previously dated irl Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Halsey, was rumoured to be Benson’s “rebound” post-break up. (Instead of, y’know, maybe just a friend she needs during this very difficult time for her. Break ups aren’t easy!)
But, thankfully, Ashley Benson just shut down all those rumours with just one Instagram like. Yesterday, Instagram user iloveabcd20 posted an excerpt of an article about the dating rumours on The Cut, writing in the caption that, “you can’t say they are dating just because of a like and some comments. Can’t Ashley have friends now?” Moments later, Benson liked the post, potentially dispelling all those rumours that she and G-Eazy are a “thing,” or just adding more fuel to the drama.
While this isn’t exactly a press statement, it does hint that Benson agrees with fans that she isn’t dating G-Eazy. Or, at least, that’s what we think!
