Ariana Grande has debuted a bit of a new accent, and it isn’t sitting too well with fans.
Just being named Billboard’s Woman of the Year 2018, she sat down with the publication to film a short video.
In it, she goes through old baby photos of her and her family.
At the 2:25 mark, she’s talking about a photo of herself as a bub, sitting with her Nonna eating a cookie. In a heavy accent, she describes, “bitch, dis my cookie, dis my juice, okay? Carry on. Thank you, next. That’s what this baby picture says. That’s crazy. If my kid ever looks at me like that, I’m gonna say oooh sh*t.”
Fans quickly took to Twitter and the YouTube comments to weigh in.
“err her voice?” one fan wrote wrote. “it’s cringey asf,” said another.
“Omg she’s so 💀.”
“i really love her, i wish she’d stop doing this 😭”
What fans are so mad about is that fact that she is putting on an inflection to sound black, with others saying she picked up a New York accent from her ex-fiance Pete Davidson.
What do you guys think of her ~new~ accent?
