Ya know how sometimes you feel obligated to follow people back on Instagram? Like that over-sharing relative or that person in your grade that you don’t even talk to IRL or that chick you met at a party once in the Summer of 2014?
Then suddenly your feed is flooded with their annoying posts but you know unfollowing them will start a war, right?
Well, Instagram ~may~ be blessing us with the answer to this age-old problem!
Clever Twitter user @wongmjane, a computer science student who’s been sifting through Instagram’s code, has unearthed a whole lotta new features that Instagram is currently testing, including a mute button.

We really don’t think we’re exaggerating when we say that this will legit change our lives for the better!
As this intel was obtained by ~devious~ means, there’s no official word as to when (or if) this function will officially be rolled out anytime soon but hopefully if we get enough of a buzz going, Instagram will answer our prayers and petitions.
