Halsey is a household name these days, with songs like "Closer" and "Now or Never" behind her, she was destined for fame.
But does anybody actually know how she got there in the first place? Because unlike some other celebrity fame stories, hers is pretty unique.
We've done some digging, and what we've found is that ONCE AGAIN, Directioner's worked their magic on somebody. Yes, One Direction fans.
Turns out that Halsey, who was then Ashley Frangipane, was a major 1D stan. In fact, she was a Harry Styles fan and TBH who isn't?
But it was more than just idolising Haz. It was love, and she hated Taylor Swift for dating him.
So much so that she wrote a song about it, which gained a lot of traction in the fandom, called "The Haylor Song". The song was about how awful Taylor was for dating Harry and dragging him through her reputation mess. Although Halsey's team had to do some violent deleting once she became famous, some clips can be found online.
But she didn't stop there! She also wrote a song called "S.O.S" which was another jab at Taylor. "She's tall and she's pretty and blonde/And she can write one hell of a breakup song/But she'll never love you like I could."
The songs started to gain attention on her Tumblr account, se7enteenblack,which had over 10,000 followers. But just like any Harry fan, she would posted a lot of pics and content about him and would often tweet about about him too.
Thankfully for her, she actually got to meet Harry when she became famous.
So what can we take from him? Being a fan girl can bloody pay off (especially if you have incred talent).
