It kind of feels unfair that at age 18 Mckenna Grace is so on top of all things makeup and skincare. Like damn, we’re still struggling to master the basics. But when we think about it, it makes sense. The stunning star has been showing off her acting chops since she was five, which has meant a massive amount of time spent in the makeup chair.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t things she still struggles with or that the fame has gone to her head. She still makes room for plenty of wholesome family time, and TBH a lot of it involves fun beauty-filled adventures.

So, when it comes to learning a brand new skill, who you gonna call? Mckenna Grace.

Grace spilled all the tea on her beauty routine when chatting with Marie Claire, so, let’s see what hot takes and product suggestions she has to offer…

Mckenna Grace Skincare Secrets

You know how your mum just always has the most random skincare devices in her stash? Well Grace’s mum is no different. Dubbed as the ‘resident skin care Queen’ in their family, she’s been a longtime fan of the (unfortunately no longer available in Australia) Dr. Dennis Gross LED Face Mask. Grace says it’s “so silly” but as a family they have “Bachelor Mondays” where they all take “two-minute turns” using the expensive device. Even her dad gets involved!

And like a true King, each week her dad takes her to CVS where she buys herself a “bunch of pimple patches”. Her faves? “The stars, they’re really fun”. Yep, the Starface Hydro Stars Big Yellow Hydrocolloid Pimple Stickers ($27.99 at Amazon Australia).

Mckenna Grace Evening Routine

Keeping her evening skin care simple yet effective is key, so she uses a mix of the Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes ($9.95 at Oz Hair and Beauty) and the classic Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm ($70 at Adore Beauty) to take her makeup off. If her skin is breaking out, she applies the Peter Thomas Roth Firmx Peeling Gel ($78 at Sephora) to give it a bit of a reset.

And for hydration? Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream ($113 at MECCA) is her go-to; in fact, she “put(s) on an ungodly amount” of the stuff. And for a bit of lip love (especially needed because of her appreciation for lipstick), she swears by the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($31 at Adore Beauty), which TBH, we do too.

Mckenna Grace’s Best Beauty Advice

When asked what the best beauty advice she’s ever received was, her answer honestly surprised us. The advice she lives by? Wash your face every morning. It sounds simple, but giving your skin a proper cleanse each morning is totally easy to miss, especially when you’re hitting the snooze button.

Mckenna Grace’s Signature Makeup Look

TBH, we still aren’t sure about our signature makeup routine, but Grace? She’s got hers “down to a T”. We’d describe her look as ‘classic beauty’; think Marilyn Monroe-esque glam. To get her look, we’ve got all the products she uses.

Flawless Base

To create a flawless base, Grace stars off with the Dr. Jart+Pore Remedy Smoothing Primer ($65 at MECCA), which she says is “fantastic” and follows it up with the Makeup By Mario Surrealskin™ Foundation ($76 at Sephora). For complexion-perfecting (not that she needs any of that), Grace uses the cult-classic Kosas Revealer Concealer ($50 at MECCA). Okay so when it comes to her cheeks, we don’t actually know which shades she uses in her fave products but that won’t stop us from adding them to cart. The products in question? The cheek blushing duo of the Milk Makeup Lip and Cheek Blush ($42 at Sephora) and the Charlotte Tilbury Liquid Blush (we assume, the Beauty Light Wand $60 at Charlotte Tilbury).

Enchanting Eyes

For her eyes, Grace is seriously fortunate to have “really long eyelashes” so she doesn’t like to use a lot of mascara because it all “gets to be too much” and the mascara “end(s) up getting on (her) eyebrows and what not”. Totally not the vibe we’re after. Her solution? A tubing mascara! Her fave pick? The (unavailable in Australia, sadly) Merit Clean Lash. And because no look is complete without a lick of liner and a glistening glimmer, Grace lines her waterline with a white liner and gives her lids a touch of glam with the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in ‘Kitten Karma’ ($42 at MECCA).

Red-Lip Classic

And finally, her moment: a red lip. She “goes everywhere with a red lip”, so, of course, she has two total must-haves on hand at all times. The first, which she “swears up and down by”, is the Ilia Colour Block Lipstick in ‘Tango’ (we assume) ($46 at MECCA) and the second, a celeb-fave, classic red: the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in ‘Rouge Charnel’ ($72 at Myer).

Mckenna Grace’s Makeup Secrets…

When it comes to non-negotiables, Grace has a few. The first? She “can’t leave the house without eyeliner”. But don’t worry there’s nothing exxy coming your way, she’ll pick up whatever drugstore brand has the “thinnest tip”. Totally chill right?

Her secrets? Well, for one, she hasn’t quite mastered filling in her brows, which is actually totally relatable (brow blindness anyone?). And the other is actually seriously impressive.

Mckenna Grace’s hidden talent is… *drumroll* she “can apply red lipstick perfectly without looking into a mirror”. Colour us seriously impressed. Because we legit struggle to get our red lipstick looking flawless even with a mirror…
