However it wasn't just heartbreaking for us fans, it was an incredibly hard decision on the girls too. Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Normani Kordei have been left pretty shattered by it all too.
However after talking to Entertainment Tonight, we're pretty sure Normani is taking it the hardest.
"[It was] very scary," she began, talking about the day the hiatus was revealed. "And heartbreaking for me personally. The first day that we even put out the announcement for the hiatus, it was the toughest day."
While having to go through that was emotionally draining, she shares what was even harder was the public's reactions. Especially the rumours and speculations about why the girls decided to take the break. "So many people saying, 'Oh my god, what happened? What's wrong?' she continued. "Just having that attention on something that you already know is real and the fact that now everybody else knows it's real, it's like, 'Wow, this is really happening.'"
Crying in the club. SORRY - bad time for that reference.
The girls announced the break on March 19, releasing an official statement that read, "After six years going hard, non stop, we also realised that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time, for now, to go on hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours. We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals."
It was all very upsetting, however since the hiatus the girls have been making some amazing solo moves! RN, Normani has a hit song with Khalid, "Love Lies" that we literally can't stop listening to.
