The upcoming flick is currently only in its early development stage but Bert Royal, who wrote the original will be back to write the script for the new spin-off and apparently even be the film's director.
#EXCITING
Royal spoke out about the news with The Los Angeles Times: "Times have changed quite a bit since I wrote that movie! The term 'slut-shaming' wasn't even in existence when the movie came out, and people were barely texting back then, now we're in this whole new world where people are very open and things that were taboo even 10 years ago are not as taboo now. There's a lot of fun stuff to explore."
But what will it even be about?!
The upcoming flick will reportedly return iconic high school in the original, exploring similar themes but this time will likely focus on Olive's young adopted sibling Chip Penderghast as he navigates high school.
None of the original stars Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes or Pen Badgley have been confirmed yet for the reported reboot but here's hoping!
