Sophie Turner reveals disgusting fact about what she had to do on ‘Game of Thrones’ set

Ew.

Being an actor on Game of Thrones is definitely good for your acting resume, but not for your hair!

Just take Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) for example.

The actress who is naturally blonde, has had to spend years dyeing her hair a fiery red for the role, and even had to go black one time when she was on the run with Littlefinger.

After the years of frying her hair, Sophie admitted her hair was incredibly damaged and was in desperate need of a break.

She ended up partnering with haircare brand Wella as its global ambassador in 2017, coloured her icy blonde, and started wearing wigs while filming on Game of Thrones instead.

But the worst part wasn’t even the constant dyeing! It was the fact that she wasn’t really allowed to wash her hair while on set. InStyle caught up with Sophie recently to discuss her beauty regime and asked her about this rumour.

Well, for the first few seasons I was allowed to wash my hair because I was an aristocratic young girl,” Sophie began.

“Towards season 5 they started asking me to not wash my hair and it was really disgusting. Now I wear I wig so I can wash my hair whenever I want, which is nice. But yes, for a couple of years I was living with pretty greasy hair.”

Ick!

How did it feel?

“Really itchy! Also, we would have the snow machines going so we would have little snow paper particles that would get stuck in the grease. It was disgusting.”

Sounds it.

Thankfully, her wig use now protects her glossy hair!
