From pretty petals to a bold, gold leaf eye, nature-inspired beauty is the perfect way to brighten up chillier days (and nights!) this autumn. Urban pop sensation, Lara D, shows us how to rock these earthy looks. Just remember to keep your make-up palette neutral so that these gorgeous details can take centre stage.
Regular winged liner is sooo 2019. Turn yourself into a living piece of art with a floral cat-eye. Start by blending muted shades of pink and purple eyeshadow into your upper and lower lids to create a smoky eye. Tip: build the colour up slowly to avoid creating a bruised effect. Then take some small, dried flowers and dot along the upper lash line, securing with eyelash glue. Finish the look with a neutral lip and a swipe of highlighter. Heavenly!
It’s all about the eyes with this bold, gold look. Put away the eyeshadow and embrace theatrics by using gold-leaf sheet (available at craft shops). Apply your makeup as per usual and then dab a small amount of eyelash glue to your eyelids. Tap small pieces of the gold leaf to your upper lids, stopping just below the brow bone and extending outwards. If you can’t find gold leaf, you can also use a gold foil-effect eyeshadow to get the lewk. Finish with a peachy cheek and soft-pink lips and you are ready to glow!
There is certainly nothing dull about this earthy palette, where gorgeous autumnal tones bring fierce and floral together in this #fire look. Nail the brief by keeping the base colours neutral then apply a liquid, metallic liner or eyeshadow along the bottom of your brow line and along the upper and lower lids (use bronze or gold to keep the look warm and glowy). Then, using eyelash glue, stick small, dried flowers on your cheekbone and in the inner corner of your eyes. Keep your eyebrows natural and apply a swipe of peach lip gloss.
