Want to know Lola Tung’s *exact* skin care routine?

gasps oh my goodness, we love this question

It’s official: The Summer I Turned Pretty season three is in the works. And sure, maybe we’re too excited to see the final season (we’ve got a solid year wait on our hands after all). But what we could never claim being ‘too’ excited about is hearing what exactly Lola Tung (AKA our beloved Belly)’s skin care routine looks like.

As far as we know, the glowing star has never been spotted with a pimple. Are we going to peg it on good genetics? Maybe. But we reckon there’s a lot to do with her thorough (and rather extensive) skin care routine. Tung took her Vogue Beauty Secrets video as an opportunity to chat us through her everyday beauty routine, and we listened very closely.

Some might call parts of Lola Tung’s skin care routine exxy, others might use the term ‘way out of my budget’,  but either way, there’s notes to be made on the fresh-faced star’s routine. And we’ve got our notes app ready. So, let’s have a look shall we?

Lola Tung’s Skin Care Advice

Before we even hit the skin care routine, we’re going to give Tung props for another key skin care secret. In an interview with American Eaglethe star was asked “What things can’t you live without” and her answer was beyond wholesome. Water, “I hydrate a lot”, she shared. So, remember to sip some H20 while you shop Tung’s skincare faves, okay?

Lola Tung’s Skin Care Routine

Step 1: Toner

Tung starts her skincare routine with a great pore-balancing pick from Good Molecules: their Niacinamide Brightening Toner ($21.13 from Good Molecules), simply applied with her hands.

Step 2: Oil + moisturiser

She then moves onto not one, but two helpful hydrators. First up: Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil ($121.51 from Revolve), which she applies just four drops of (more if her skin is super dry) across her face, before locking in that hydration with the Herbivore Botanicals Pink Cloud Soft Moisture Cream ($75.53 from Revolve)

Step 3: Serum

Next up, Tung applies the (incredibly exxy but incredibly lush) Westman Atelier’s Skin Activator Serum ($243.62 from Net-a-Porter). TBH, we can probably attest Tung’s radiant, hydrated glow to this stuff.

Step 4: SPF

Next comes sunscreen; smart girl. Tung uses the (unavailable in Aus; devo) Cocokind Daily SPF. But just because it’s not available doesn’t mean you can skip this step! Tung’s mum was  “really, really adamant about [her] and [her] sister wearing it when they were younger”, which has definitely stuck with her over the years. Seconded. Yes, we’re becoming that ‘have you reapplied your sunscreen?’ friend.

Step 5: Balm

Ensuring her skin is prepped for her makeup, Tung makes sure to hydrate her lips as much as her face, using the cooling, minty ILIA Lip Wrap Reviving Balm ($40 from MECCA) to protect her pout.

Step 6: Mist

After balm, she gives her face a quick spritz of the Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist ($59.11 from Revolve) “just for the vibes”.

Step 7: Eye masks

And finally, Tung finishes with a moment of self care, something she learnt was super important to allow herself while being on set. For this little treat, she applies the Live Tinted Rays Copper Eye Mask ($111.41 from Amazon Australia), which she first came across while filming, but loved them so much that she “bought some for her mum” (important step: don’t forget to always spoil your mums). So take it from Tung, “this is a self care moment”.

Remember how we said we’d take notes? Well, here’s the theme: clean beauty buys. Tung shared that she’s tried to “curate a skin care (and makeup) routine that’s entirely cruelty-free”. Why? Because it’s “always been something that’s important to [her]”.

We think it’s pretty safe to say, this is “100 per cent your look Connie baby”. Er, we mean Lola. Now, we’ve just got to figure out, team Conrad, team Jeremiah or best of all (and Tung’s personal pick) team Belly?
