Kurt Coleman spoke to Triple J on their Hack Live: Body Obsession tv show two years ago, preaching about how botox will make you feel good.
He was sending a positive message about self-love, however, he has completely changed his tune now.
At the time he was getting dermal fillers in his lips, and he had already modified his jaw and forehead. He was 18.
“The chick that was doing it for me was doing it for free,” Kurt said. “She was like, try this, try that.”
“Basically you can’t even tell the difference after you get it, you get so used to it you don’t even know. I was thinking that I looked no different.
“I never did it because I was unhappy with myself. I did it for fun.
“But then it made me look in the mirror one day and go what the f***’s wrong with my face?
“I didn’t look like a normal person. I just didn’t look like myself. I always loved myself, so why did I change it for no reason?”
He admits that his lips became “pretty hectic” at one stage. “I realised, what the hell. My face is f***ed.”
He now says that forehead fillers wasn’t a good idea, as they were uncomfortable and made his face expressionless.
“It’s so stupid because I didn’t even have wrinkles in my forehead. I can’t believe I would do something so dumb.”
Wow.
Kurt has revealed that all the work has left permanent changes on his face, and that people still criticise him for “having so much work done.”
He wants people to think twice before getting work done.
“I’ve got a lot of friends that are just naturally beautiful, and I’m seeing all of them go and change their faces….but they’re going to end up like me.
“It’s not even about looking better. It’s like, why would you change who you are when you can love that already. That’s what I always think now.
“I just think you should just stop masking your problems. Fix everything on the inside.”
He also thinks that clinics need to be more assertive with young people.
“They willingly get young people in there to get their lips done. They don’t tell you, your young and beautiful you don’t need it. They say, get it, it’s so good.
“That’s disgusting. When I think of it like that, it’s making young people do it.
“At the end of the day they’re playing with how people look, how they feel about themselves.”
