We follow *so* many beauty vloggers and influencers on social media so we’re always seeing fire makeup lewks.
But, we’re not the best at recreating these looks.
On this week’s episode of Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss podcast, YouTuber and makeup queen Aubri Ibrag revealed that there was a time when she wasn’t so great either!
“I used to just watch makeup tutorials because it was just so satisfying and it’s like that muscle you train I guess, like I could not do anything,” she told Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss podcast.
“I put on my foundation [and] it was patchy, it was just horrible. My eyeliner, oh my god I literally look like a raccoon in some of my old videos but it’s fine, people are accepting.”
Unfortunately improving your makeup skills doesn’t happen overnight and as Aubri says, you’ve got to practice, practice, practice!
“You just kind of practice and it’s like a muscle that you train and then you realise the shape of your own face and adjust and it just works together but all it takes is practice,” Aubri said.
Despite being an uber popular beauty influencer these days, Aubri is still surprised that people take her advice about makeup.
“I never thought anybody would be listening to what I say about makeup,” she said.
“I thought maybe they’d just watch my videos for fun or like see me talk but I never thought that people would actually follow my makeup advice because I just really don’t think I’m that good at makeup.”
