What exactly is highlighter?
If you’re new to the world of highlighters, let us give you a quick rundown. Highlighter is makeup that you apply to attract light, which helps create the illusion of brightness and glow and it can also add dimension to your face. There are different types of highlighting products including cream, liquid, powder or pencil.
And these types of highlighters also come in different colours – there’s everything from silvery highlighters to gold and even colours like purple and blue. We recommend choosing the highlighter that will look flattering against your skin tone. So, if you have olive skin, a gold highlighter is probably going to suit you more. If you have a more fair complexion, a silver or pinky highlighter will look great on you.
Where should you apply it?
The most common place to apply highlighter is on to your cheekbones and the high points of your face like your brow bones, your cupid’s bow above your lips and the bridge of your nose. You can also sweep it across your collarbones or dot a little into the corners of your eyes to make them look brighter and more awake.
