Most of us have beauty and fashion ~moments~ that we’ve come to regret. Thankfully, most of the evidence of our emo fringes live deep in the private photo albums on our neglected Facebook profiles. Emma Chamberlain, on the other hand, just revealed that one of her most photographed, selfied and Instagrammed hairstyles is actually something she now hates.
It might be a *tiny* bit difficult to scrub the look from the memory of her near ten million IG followers if she was, you know, inclined to try.
ICYMI, the YouTuber and original VSCO girl had a chunky half-blonde half-brunette moment earlier this year, just before she debuted her new entirely blonde look.
According to a new interview, Chamberlain actually hates the look now! (Hundreds of girls with Top Deck bar hair just made the ‘🥺’ face.)
“In retrospect, I hate how that looked,” Chamberlain explained about her look that launched a thousand chunky highlights. “But it was a fun idea at the time,” the social media star added.
Well, we guess this serves as our daily reminder that part of the beauty of hair and makeup is that it’s only temporary. Every look you don’t like? We’re calling them drafts from now on.
Chamberlain also explained that as well as external transformations, she’s also been using the time in quarantine to work on her inner world.
“I definitely am having a lot of lazy days, and still some productive ones, too,” she explained. “I feel guilty sometimes about the lazy days, but then I remember there’s nothing else for me to be doing, so I just had to lean into it… I mean, talk about self-discovery and all that. I am a new person. I don’t even know who I was before this whole thing started. The lessons did not end; they just kept coming. And some of them were good, and some of them were painful. But I think that that’s honestly really, really good. I’m grateful for it.”
